Welcome to RecoveryArts.com

Mulberry by Van GoghThe founders of RecoveryArts.com want to welcome anyone out there who has a passion for the arts to the site.  Our mission is to, hopefully, spark a movement that will spread throughout the entire addiction recovery community by encouraging those dealing with addiction and recovery to express and share in a constructive and therapeutic way.

We don’t only welcome recovering addicts, but anyone who may be dealing with any kind of recovery and is looking for an outlet, be it: someone recovering from a surgery that is bedridden and writing poetry; some who is recovering from a gambling addiction and records jazz; anyone who may be a rapper or an essayist and wants to express a provocative thought; or, perhaps, someone recovering from an eating disorder or sex addiction that paints to help with the recovery process.

Any and all submission having to do with recovery art are welcomed, such as: poetry (any words in general like essays, short stories, testimonials, etc); music (any digital format that can be sent to us, country, rap, rock, classical, reggae, etc); visual arts (any sculptures, paintings, digital media, drawings, etc.).  We ask that the piece of art be sent to us in a digital format (word doc, jpg, mp3, etc) that way we can post it more easily.  Please contact us and send your submissions to ernestosthompson@gmail.com.

* Also, please keep in mind that the artists and authors’ identities will be kept anonymous for the sake of maintaining the basic premise within AA and NA of anonymity, unless otherwise noted in the sent email.

You must have many friends. Already today I have received an email about your blog and I want to say I think this is a really great idea. I will send you some of my work and hopefully you will write about my art.
